A police officer the police command in the capital city territory (FCT) has been said to have been stabbed to death on Friday during a violent protest in Abuja.
Mariam Yusuf – the police public relations officer (PPRP) made this known and further saying that the officer was sent to restore order during a protest by the disbanded members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (ISM) which he successfully calmed by dispersing the protesters’ at the Berger round-about, Abuja.
The PPRO, Mariam Yusuf explained that the disbanded members on Friday, went on a frenzy, vandalizing public property and attacking unsuspecting citizens as well as police officers with harmful weapons at hand.
According to Mariam, 48 of the disbanded group memebers who got he police officer stabbed have been arreste and taken to custody pending investigation being currently carried out and assured to not go without facing the court of law.

The FCT commissioner of police himself, Bala Ciroma sent his sympathy to the families of the police officer stabbed in line of duty and commended him for his bravery and sacrifice.
The PPRO says the police would no longer tolerate any further harm done to its people, equipment or any other form of property from said disbanded culprit group.
She finally urges members of the public in the FCT to remain calm and law abiding. The culprits would be found and stopped
