COVID-19: No Nigerian so far shown side effects from AstraZeneca vaccine – NPHCDA

The National Primary Health Care Development Agency – NPHCDA released a tweet on the popular social media, Tweeter, saying No Nigerian so far shown side effects from AstraZeneca vaccine against covid-19.

Following the recent fear that the AstraZeneca vaccine may be the cause of blood cloth after it has been administered to a patient. In view of this, several countries discontinued the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine.

However, on Friday, the 19th of March, 2021, the World Health Organisation – WHO came out to renew their backing for the AstraZeneca vaccine saying it is not the vaccine that is causing the blood cloth.

In so doing, many countries reopened its hospital doors to resume the administration of the vaccine.

Nigeria that also recently got its supply of the vaccine has also commenced administration of the AstraZeneca vaccine to its people starting with the president and his vice, and the NPHCDA have come out to confirm there have been no cases of severe side effects from the vaccine.

Although many Nigerans still haven’t yet been vaccinated, there is more and more progress each day state by state.
